Thomas Ringgold Shepherd, an emeritus trustee, alumnus and significant benefactor of Washington and Lee University, died on March 19, 2016. A resident of Stow, Massachusetts, he was 86.
The Islands Society named Danielle Breidung, a 2013 graduate of Washington and Lee University, as its inaugural Lowcountry Emerging Leader by its constituent society for the Lowcountry — the Sea Islands Society.
